People die every 11 minutes from suicide. On average, that is 132 people a day that are no longer with us. There must be a way to stop and help reduce that number. Suicide prevention has been a controversial topic to speak on for years and doesn’t seem to be getting anymore recognition. When mentioning the word suicide words

like: death, coward, easy way out, desperate, crazy, mentally unstable, etc are thought of. None of those terms have a positive connotation to them. Suicide has always had a shameful reputation and is never fully understood. There are more than 12.3 million people who struggle with suicidal thoughts, 3.5 million plan a suicide attempt, and 1.7 million who attempt. To help every single one of them, having more awareness can help all those who aren’t as experienced with this issue because the more we know the more we can do.
